the plans were changed, and Wings of Sorrow actually did perform at the backyard gig. It was flippen fun. The bands that performed with us is Rainbow in Technicolor, Bonded by Blood, and True Romance. All of them were super rad and nice. True Romance is an all chick band from Pomona, and they were the people who invited us. Truly awesome chicks. Rainbow in Technicolor reminded me of Hellogoodbye if it were on crack. They were really supportive for our first show. Bonded by Blood were mind boggling. The drummer, the guitarist, and the bassist were all pro at what they were doing. crazy metal band. lol
so that gig was like our test gig for august 27th's gig with us headlining. the test was to get everybody in the crowd at yesterday's gig to be into our stuff when the majority of them came for bonded by blood. we had nothing compared to them, but we still managed to rock the crowd. we didn't know them, and they were in their mid 20s. hopefully everyone can make it to the bday show on the 27th, i'm really really really looking forward to it.
and hey. band camp? heck yes time to get dark again. lol

summer reading? LOL!!!!
hmm...so tommorow's plan is to wake up at 9, go to sam ash at 10, come back like at 12 and then watch movie with family. then maybe gym. and then maybe a show at pomona that wos was supposed to play in, but denied. or just...iono. not want to do. hahaha. i wanna go still though. hmm....

so today was pretty eventful, the morning was any other regular lazy morning awake at 12:49. we were preparing for my aunts bday party at my house. i stayed for the party for like 3 hours, then at 7 or something like that, i went to nicole's house w/ robert and justin for some fun. she has a flippen drumset, a bass guitar, plentiful guitars, and has a really really nice filipino house. flippen rich lookin. haha, then we went chilled at my house. lol robert me and justin were just messing around w/ the guitar and the music on my old old old old computer. we threw a LIGHT SWITCH RAVE! OMGAHHHHH. SANDSTORM! lol. so tommorow, i'm not sure what i'm gonna do; i'm probably go to the concert thing at the park like ol` times. hopefully it didn't die down that much. maybe i'll go to roberts' and bryans' place too. it depends if i have a ride. we 3 still gotta jam together. that's it for now.

So today was Last of the originals practice, but before we get into that, we'll get into the beginning of my day. Well i woke up and the next thing i knew is that we're in the mall. wow. And then i'm at the mall. i arrived really late at home so i left shawn hanging for about an hour, and that really sucks. but later that day i went to his house and taught him some stuff on drums. but before that i went to last of the orignals, and i'm really jealous w/ their voices lol i wanna be like them! hahaha, it's cool though, we're two bands w/ totally different styles of rock. i was their substitute drummer since shadd wasn't there. either way...we still jammed. lol. yeah that's about my day. tommorow is TRACKING w/ PAUL! YEEEAAHHH! sorry for the lack of grammar..

this week has been pretty bleh. this headache won't go away, and yeah i'm very fuckstrated. where's char to vent to lol. well i'm glad i have friends at school who understand my predicament right now. i've been listening to a lot of electro pop stuff lately, and i figure that this stuff makes me happy. so yeah, i booked two bands to perform at my house...lol wings of sorrow, and last of the originals. check them out at http://myspace.com/lastoftheoriginals .... yeah. i still need to buy new strings and iono. well that's about it. i'll update tommorow or something. tommorow i'll go the mall w/ family, saturday i might go to universal studios. that's all for now, good bye.

So today was the disney day. Hmm....today was, with lack of a better term, sorta like a "crescendo" (spl?). iono, it went to not wanting to go, to yeah oh well, to yeah it's kinda fun, to whoa i'm surprised i'm having this much fun at dland, and then aww i'm going home???....and yeah. i'll update later. thanks char for the starting line cd.

So yeah my aunt from the Philippines came over the other day, and she's pretty cool. She got me this really cool bracelet thing. The other aunt that escorted her from Irvine, well, she isn't as cool, but she has this really really really really really nice flat iron that i use everyday now. It'll suck when she leaves because i really like that Revlon PRO flat iron. It's better than my generically named flat iron that doesnt work as well as hers. Oh well. So yeah, i'm actually finished with the song, and i decide to end it w/ a piano serenade. It's gon be tight. However I think i'm in great need of a dang Recording Studio. Oh well, it's all good though. Tommorow is disneyland, so i'm missing Wings of Sorrow practice, http://myspace.com/wingsofsorrow support us!.....Today, i'm going to the dodgers game, and then watching the musical "Wicked" oh joy. It turns out that this family is tearing apart. Due to the immaturity of a special certain children that have bad attitudes. I don't believe it either, my own family are vengeful people who can't empathize the pain they are inflicting towards another person in the family. Have you no shame? Have you know respect for your own family? I've tried calming down both sides, but that leaves me the middleman once again in a dilemma of this common theme of "he said, she said." How incapable can this happen to this clan? I'm in awe in how easily grudges can form. However, in time, there are no sorries, this will pass. We just need to clean this up. Portea/Glorioso: we're family. Nothing can tear us apart. I'm a man of morals and sentamentalism, and I believe this is a real conflict between the family across the states. Yeah Jake, I know how you feel, but I just want to take into consideration, that badmouth or not, we have to accept who we are, and who they are. I'm just glad we're still cool. Of course we are, we're guitar partners in crime. Nevertheless, I know they will change. I know it. It just takes time. To the three I am most disappointed at most....you guys just gotta learn. Yeah. We'll stay strong as a family. I'm not going to stress.

So yesterday was my band's practice, and i must say, i'm impressed when i open the garage. This was the first time practice was held at my house, so all the neighbors are new to this brand of "Rock n Roll." I was surprised how we attracted a crowd: a couple of hardcore kids, mexicans on scooters, and two hot asian girls. Haha. The first gig is on my bday show thinger, so we're practicing for that i guess. I played my song to the band and they were impressed, so i'm happy; we're going to record it =). I just wished we had better means of recording. No emo rant this post. Bye

i'm back to livejournal, and i couldn't be any happier because it was hell trying to find the password to this. so i believe livejournal is made to vent about certain aspects of my life that doesn't seem to appease to my happiness aye? well, then this will be more "emotional" oriented, as of my other blogs: melo and xanga, is more commentary and joyful and all that stuff. hmm... i wrote a song on my guitar the other day, and i'm reluctant to say that it was about a girl that i liked. i never wouldve thought the first song i would write with my guitar would be about a guitar, but i guess that's just how the world turns. i'm yet to make this song public because i even choke up thinking of the girl while i play the song making me forget the words. wow, that was such a run-on sentence. haha. well tommorow is practice for drumline, and today is practice for wings of sorrow, and i'm looking forward to that. this is my fresh new start on this livejournal revival, hopefully i'm up to par with my previous entries
